LDR 2009 Participants
LDR 2010 Press Release
Thank you to the Fairfield County Community Foundation, www.fccfoundation.org.
Ron Cretaro, Executive Director of CT Association of Nonprofits talks about the LDR program in this article.

The Leadership Development Roundtable (LDR) Program is a learning series designed to build participants' capacities to manage and lead nonprofit organizations and to expand their networks of contacts. Applications are currently being accepted for this year's program and are due by December 30, 2009.

The LDR is a “learn through doing” opportunity geared to prepare nonprofit leaders to meet the anticipated demand for social sector leaders: across the nation, it is estimated that close to 1 million new nonprofit leaders will be needed over the next decade.

The LDR is designed for those currently employed in Connecticut nonprofits who are inspired to increase their impact as leaders.  This program is for individuals from Generations X and Y who plan to become an Executive Director within the next five years.  Participants must commit to attending the entire series and completing readings and assignments in between sessions to enhance learning and group discussion.

"The Leadership Development Roundtable cultivates the passion and builds the skills of mission-driven emerging leaders.  Strong non-profit organizations should see this as a unique opportunity for their organizations to grow the talent of key staff members who aspire to manage and lead effective change.  We're happy to host the Hartford-based Leadership Development Roundtable at The Lyceum in 2010."

- Diane Randall, Executive Director, Partnership for Strong Communities

"Helping prepare the next generation of nonprofit leadership is all part of creating healthy nonprofits and insuring their success which in turn creates healthy communities in Connecticut. Where would we be if this was not part and parcel of our mission and responsibility to Connecticut's nonprofits? CT Nonprofits is proud to be able to co-sponsor this high quality experience for aspiring leaders in our state's nonprofit sector."

- Ron Cretaro, Executive Director, CT Association of Nonprofits

“The program gave me a renewed energy that motivated me at work and has also pushed me seek out ways to have the greatest impact possible in the non-profit world.  I left with new resources and tools, a network of fantastic leaders in the community and an immense wealth of knowledge that I would not have had without participating in the LDR program.  I recommend that all emerging leaders participate - it was truly inspiring to be a member of the 2009 LDR cohort!”

- Lauren Burgweger, LDR 09, Director of Marketing and Special Events, Greenwich Adult Day Care
